Ensuring that our residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our first priority always and especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic. All Credo Senior Living and Memory Care residences have been and will continue to follow all guidelines and protocols provided by our licensing agency, Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and local health officials to ensure that we are doing all that we can to protect our residents. Because of this commitment, when surveyed by the State of Kansas, each of our residences passed Infection Control Surveys with zero deficiencies. This standard survey process showed that all plans, protocol and resident care were observed to be at or above expectations as regulated by the State of Kansas.
In addition to the steps that we have taken to keep our residents physically healthy, we know how important mental health is and we have taken other steps in that area. Our regional activity coordinators have done an excellent job of providing a variety of activities including drive-thru parades, starting pen pal programs, doing virtual bible studies, having patio concerts, doing outdoor chair yoga and much, much more. Socially distanced patio visits have been very popular for local families and we have purchased iPads for resident communication with friends and family that live at a distance. The iPads have proven to be an additional help for telehealth visits and were a blessing to fill in the communication gaps when local positivity rates spiked. In addition to patio and virtual visits, because of the decrease in local COVID-19 positivity cases, many of our locations are now able to host interior visits while following protocols as agreed upon with our local health departments/officials.
Because of the nature of our business, our residents and staff members were are on the top tier for access to the COVID-19 vaccine and the majority of our vaccination clinics have been completed.
